A group of young professionals in various sectors on Monday converged to pledged their unflinching support towards the re-election of Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (BOS)

The BOS Youths Professional Support group (BOSYOPS) was borne out of appreciation of the Sanwo-Olu led administration towards youths empowerment and support.

The Group comprises of young professionals, technocrats, business people, social activists, advocates, political analysts, social commentators, intellectuals, and other people of similar mind.

They are committed to promoting BOS ideology and vision of making Lagos State a 21st century economy.

The group highlighted how the Lagos State Government has operated an open door system to support the dreams of young entrepreneurs, which does not require knowing someone of affluence in government.

Testifying to how Lagos State keyed into his vision was Ayowande Adelemo, Founder of Atmosphere, he said it was important to have value that can be beneficial to all and sundry in order to thrive.

“I will share a personal experience, I was on my way to work and I needed to send an urgent mail and all the mobile network that I was using were down, then I asked myself why can’t we have network at the BRT bus stops.

“ So I spoke with my friend, he said I should go and speak with Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), I walked into the office asked to see the Managing Director without having an appointment.

“ The Director was gracious enough and spared me five minutes and everything as they say his history, I thought it was a joke until I got a letter from LAMATA telling to go the busiest Bus Shelter to test run it, we had so much users at the Ikorodu and TBS terminals.

“ The morale of my testimony is that you don’t need to know anyone to achieve to dream, I didn’t know anyone but our dear governor and LAMATA have given life to our vision, such a visionary leader deserves another term in office,” he said.

Some of the objectives of the group is to project BOS’ image through the grassroots with a view to building a moral follower-ship.

They also want to model Lagos State showing young achievers who are bold enough to identify with what the government is doing.

Also to project faces of successful people who want to make a difference in the state and project intellectuals who believe in BOS ideology.

They also want to shape the ideology of millennials on electoral process and participation and to build a strong chapter in every neighbourhood and local government.

Sharing same view were Agroprenures, who have benefitted from the training of Lagos State in various areas of Agriculture , one of the beneficiaries Adewale Erebowale, from Ogun, applauded the masterminds of the initiative.

“ I lost my job in 2020, and I started to question myself on how I can rise above my challenges; I saw a group of people gathered and I asked what the matter was, they said they wanted to get Lagos State form to apply to be trained.

“ I am from Ogun, I know nobody here, and I was picked, getting trained and implementing what we were trained on, has impacted my life greatly and I believe in the leadership of Gov. Sanwo-Olu,” he said.

Olamide Afolabi of the Cowry Group said the ICT guru would provide free bus rides for registered members.

“ We have portals that will require personal data and you will get a bracelet which is worn on the wrist which will give members of this group, to log on to twitter and Instagram @bosyopsofficials where we will be sharing more information,” he said.

The convener of the group, Mrs Bisola Olusanya, said that Lagos State is not just the centre of excellence but a home away from home to other states.

“ With the way everyone is leaving this country to Canada, the United Kingdom (UK) and all, it is safe to say Lagos State is the Canada for other states that are in search of greener pasture.

“ Our forward thinking governor, keeps welcoming bright ideas irrespective of who or where the person is from, BOS is extra deliberate about the youths of Lagos State, because he knows they are the majority age group in the state.

“This group is for the youth by the youth; the security of lives and properties is unbeatable in Lagos State, talk about the rail project, housing, health care, Lagos State blueprint should be model for other states,” she said

She also highlighted how the Gov. Sanwo-Olu led administration ensured that students of Lagos State University were not part of the ASUU strike.

“Lagos State government ensured that LASU didn’t join the strike because BOS is deliberate about every sector, one good turn deserves another.

“ Sanwo-Olu keeps showing us how and what leadership is about, we are here to give support by going to the grassroots.

”we’ve 12 to 13 weeks before the election, we will take advantage of technology to campaign and make sure that we secure a second term,” Olusanya said.
