Mohamed Salah will remain at Liverpool despite new reports tying him to a move to the Saudi Pro League, Jurgen Klopp said.
Al-Ittihad are said to be interested in the 31-year-old Egyptian attacker, who joined the Reds from Roma in 2017.
Klopp stated before Liverpool’s Premier League match against Newcastle on Sunday that Salah is “100% committed” to the club.
“There is nothing to talk about; he is a Liverpool player,” Klopp stated.
“He is and will continue to be vital. There is nothing to be found. ” My life philosophy is that when I have a problem, I think about it.”
Liverpool are unlikely to move a player who only signed a fresh three-year contract last summer, with the transfer window shutting on September 1.
Salah’s agency has previously brushed off speculation of a transfer to Saudi Arabia.
“Mohamed remains committed to Liverpool,” Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa stated on social media on August 7th.
“We would not have renewed the contract last summer if we had planned to leave Liverpool this year.”
Salah has started both of Liverpool’s games this season; however, he was frustrated when he was replaced in the draw against Chelsea before scoring the rebound from his saved penalty in the win over Bournemouth.
During his career at Anfield, he scored 187 goals in 307 games and won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
