A former member of staff of TheNEWS/PMNEWS, Saka Anifowoshe, is dead. He died on Sunday 16 January 2017.

A Wake keep will hold at 5 pm next Thursday, 26 January 2017 at Oju Irin, Oguntade Street, Iju Ishaga, Lagos State.

Burial will take place at Ijebu Owo, Ondo State on Saturday, 28 January 2017.

Born on 16 January 1966 in Ijebu Owo, Ondo State to High Chief Ibrahim Anifowoshe, the Ajana of Ijebu Owo, he attended St Francis Primary School, and (according to his younger brother, Yekini), Imade College, Owo.

He obtained his Federal Ministry of Trade Test certificate in 1992 as a driver/mechanic.

He joined the Independent Communications Network Limited, publishers of TheNEWS/PMNEWS, in 1993 as a driver and, after 23 years, voluntarily resigned on 16 May 2016.

According to Alhaji Rafiu Salau, the company’s Administration Manager, Anifowoshe was energetic, diligent and was a goal getter. He added: “Whatever he wanted, he would go after and get it.

He enjoyed long trips, distributing TheNEWS magazine to many parts of the country. He took great risks, travelling at night. He was also highly enterprising, which informed his decision to disengage from the company to run his own transport service.”

Popularly called “Okadigbo” by his colleagues on account of his big stature and boundless energy, he is survived by Mrs Toyin Njoku, Mercy Anifowoshe and Mrs Aanu Adeyemo.
