Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Ijeoma “Phyna” Otabor, had her leg amputated after being hit by a Dangote Group truck at Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State.
The fatal catastrophe happened on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, just six days after Ruth graduated from Auchi Polytechnic.
According to eyewitnesses, the heavy-duty truck smashed her leg before being pursued and stopped by a passerby.
In 2022, Phyna won the BBNaija “Level Up” edition and received a ₦100 million prize package. She is noted for her outspoken nature and developing entertainment career.
She has now used her platform to seek justice for her sister, accusing the firm of incompetence and pledging not to let the issue go unnoticed.
It was gathered that Otabor, whose leg has been amputated, may lose her other leg to amputation as a result of the accident.
