    Ruggedman, the ace Nigerian rapper, has revealed why he does not have children.

    The 51-year-old rapper, whose real name is Michael Stephens, opened up about his personal life in a recent episode of TVC’s ‘Your View Pidgin’.

    Ruggedman shared that he made a vow to himself when he was younger to never have a child out of wedlock.

    The ‘ Baraje’ hitmaker explained that he believes parenthood requires a lot from both parties involved and should only be taken with someone he loves.

    The rapper, who is not married, admitted that he sometimes questions whether he made the right decision. He, however, added that he stands by his conviction.

    “I am not currently not in any relationship nor am I married and I do not have a child yet. When I was much younger, I vowed never to have a child out of wedlock,” he said.

    “Sometimes, I wonder whether I made the right or wrong decision. But still, it takes a lot from both parties and I believe for you to do that it has to be with someone you love.”

    Ruggedman is from Ohafia in Abia state. Born on September 20, 1973, the rapper is a graduate of political science from Lagos State University (LASU).

    He started to gain fame in the music industry in 1999. His projects were all released under Rugged Records, his label.

    He is also popular for his critical views on happenings in the country’s socio-political landscape.
