The 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place on Monday, September 22, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France.

According to reports, Ronaldinho, the renowned Brazilian playmaker, will present France Football’s most prestigious individual award.

While the organizers have yet to confirm the news, football fans throughout the world are excited.

This year’s Ballon d’Or is shaping up to be a spectacular matchup between two players who have followed in Ronaldinho’s footsteps: PSG’s Ousmane Dembélé and Barcelona’s 18-year-old prodigy Lamine Yamal.

The thought of Ronaldinho presenting the medal to one of them has been regarded as poetic, with both players representing the teams that propelled the Brazilian to global prominence.

    • Dembélé should win Ballon d’Or after PSG’s Champions League victory – Enrique

Yamal, who helped Barcelona win three domestic titles, has had a breakout season, earning him the LALIGA EA SPORTS Best Under-23 Player Award.

The teenager scored 18 goals and provided 21 assists, making him the youngest player to score in a Clásico and the youngest to reach 100 appearances for the club.

The Spanish wonderkid also helped Spain win the European Championship in a record-breaking campaign, which bolstered his Ballon d’Or chances.

His fans claim that his combination of youthful zeal and finished product makes him a worthy winner despite his age.

Dembélé, on the other hand, exemplifies ultimate atonement and consistency. The French international has been revived under PSG manager Luis Enrique, leading the team to a historic treble, including their first UEFA Champions League championship.

Dembélé has 32 goals and eight assists in all competitions, making him the statistical frontrunner. PSG Sporting Director Luis Campos has openly defended him, saying, “If his name were Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, there would be no discussion.” Campos argued that if Dembélé does not win, it indicates a failure by voters.

Even Ronaldinho praised the PSG forward’s performances, telling L’Equipe via Paris Fans, “I don’t want to compare too much. I mostly look at my former teams and those who are still in the Champions League. Ousmane Dembélé currently plays for PSG. I like him a lot.
