Remi Tinubu has signs of mental health challenges – Michael Egwuonwu

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has been described as having “mental health challenges” over her call for Nigerians to endure the economic hardship and insecurity in the country.

Urging Nigerians to stay in Nigeria rather than go outside the shores of the country, Mrs. Tinubu berated Nigerians abroad for doing odd jobs that, according to her, they would not do in the country.

The statement by the first lady, which has attracted backlash from Nigerians, has had Michael Egwuonwu (@MichaelEgwuonwu), a social media influencer, berate Mrs. Tinubu, questioning if she’s “educated or just an illiterate.”

Stating that the First Lady sounds “malarkey,”  Egwuonwu argues that Nigerians do odd jobs abroad because the salaries they receive are better than what they earn doing white-collar jobs in Nigeria.

In a statement on X on Thursday, Egwuonwu compared Nigeria to the Seychelles, where, according to him, unlike the N30,000 minimum wage for workers in the country, a cleaner in the Seychelles earns N178,000,000 a month as the minimum wage.

Furthermore, he argues that “Seychelles doesn’t have gas, gold, lithium, coal, kaolinite, or any other thing Nigeria is naturally blessed with, ” however, “the only thing Seychelles has going for them are thoughtful leaders that prioritize the wellbeing of their citizens.”

Egwuonwu’s statement reads, “Sometimes I wonder if Remi Tinubu is educated or if she is just an illiterate.

“Saying Nigerians should endure pain, hunger, and penury while living in luxury is a sign of mental health challenges.

“Let’s not go far; let’s use the Seychelles. A cleaner in the Seychelles earns N178,000,000 a month as the minimum wage, but a nurse in Nigeria earns 30,000. Tell me why that nurse would not want to go to the Seychelles and be a cleaner.

“Seychelles doesn’t have oil; Seychelles doesn’t have arable land.

“Seychelles doesn’t have gas, gold, lithium, coal, kaolinite, or any other thing Nigeria is naturally blessed with. The Seychelles have a higher life expectancy than Nigeria.

“The only thing Seychelles has going for them are thoughtful leaders that prioritize the wellbeing of their citizens and the fact that they will never hoist a man tainted by drug dealing and certificate forgery like Remi Tinubu’s husband as the president of the nation.

“In all these, Remi Tinubu doesn’t even know how malarkey she sounds.”
