The founder of Power City International Ministry, Pastor Abel Damina, has faulted the popular saying that ‘What God cannot do does not exist.’

He said the statement popularised by Pastor Jerry Eze of Streams of Joy International Ministry is not the truth.

The pastor made the statements in a recent teaser released for a programme, the Honest Bunch Podcast with Nedu.

Damina, known for his criticism of Nigerian pastors, clarified that his opposition to Eze’s teachings was not driven by jealousy but rather a desire to uphold the truth.

He also questioned the authenticity of miracles performed by some pastors, suggesting that many were staged.

Damina expressed his belief in genuine miracles and healings but emphasized the need to discern between true and fabricated ones.

He said, “‘What God cannot do does not exist’ is not the truth.

“People think I’m jealous of Jerry Eze, but that is not the truth……

“It is not about sentiment. It is about knowing what the truth is.

“I believe in miracles, I believe in healings, but not all these arrangee that we are seeing today.”

In the podcast, Damina pointed out the suspicious uniformity of crutches used by supposedly healed individuals, implying that these miracles were stage-managed..

“Can’t you see most of those crutches are all the same colours. They are all brand new.

“In what world will people come for a crusade, and all of them are carrying the same brand of crutches and also the same colour?” Damina asked in the podcast.

Damina also shared his views on tithing, arguing that it is wrong for pastors to demand tithes from their congregation.

He encouraged fellow pastors to return to their original vocations, citing the examples of Jesus’ disciples who maintained their professions.

He added, “Jesus didn’t pay tithe, Jesus didn’t receive tithe, all the disciples of Jesus had professions.”
