The corpse of another woman, Princess Ochigbo, was found dead in the Kubwa district of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This comes less than three days after a nurse, known only as Chinemerem Chuwumeziem, who purportedly departed her afternoon shift at the Federal Medical Centre in Abuja on January 3, was discovered dead.

The most recent event was made public in a post uploaded on Wednesday by an X user, @HighChiefOkoro, who included photographs of the victim’s identification card and her lifeless body by the roadside.

The deceased was discovered on the Kubwa Expressway on Tuesday, and her bag, which held her identity card and other personal things, was discovered a few meters from her body.

Documents recovered from her suggested she may have been a staff member of the FCT High Court.

The X user wrote, “A lady named Princess Ochigbo, reportedly a staff member at the High Court in the FCT, was found dead on the roadside, likely a victim of ‘one chance’ robbery. Her identification documents suggested she worked at the High Court.

“If you know anyone related to her, kindly contact the Dawaki Division of the Nigeria Police Force, located opposite Gwarimpa Estate along Kubwa Express Road, Abuja, via 08023009319.

“Kindly disseminate this information to help locate her family.”

Meanwhile, the FCT Police Command announced that it has initiated an inquiry to ascertain the circumstances behind the incident.

In a brief statement on Wednesday, FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh acknowledged that officers had begun working on the case.

She said, “The FCT Police Command is aware of this sad incident. Discreet investigations are ongoing to unravel the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.

“More information will be provided in due course as investigations progress.”

Reports of “one chance” drivers or robbers targeting innocent individuals, particularly ladies, are not uncommon in the FCT.

Last November, Daily Trust reported that a woman was attacked while traveling to Gadabuke Market in Dazhi village, which borders Gadabuke in the FCT’s Kuje Area Council and Zangabutu in Nasarawa State’s Toto Local Government Area.

According to the complaint, the perpetrators stabbed the woman in the neck and fled with her phone. Some locals later discovered her body and reported it to police in Gadabuke.
