Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been arraigned at the Isabo High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday.

His arraignment comes after his surrender to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba on Wednesday, after being proclaimed wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.

The charges are as a result of an incident on February 5, 2025, when he allegedly led an attack on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development during an enforcement exercise at his bar in the Sango Ota neighbourhood.

The officers were injured, and while nine of Portable’s friends were apprehended, the singer escaped until his recent recapture.

Born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on March 12, 1994, Portable rose to fame with his 2021 hit song “ZaZoo Zehh,” which featured Olamide and Poco Lee.

Numerous issues have surrounded his career, including accusations of violent behavior and public arguments with other musicians.

The singer is a “serial dissident and unrepentant rascal,” according to the Ogun State Government, which has denounced his conduct.

They underlined their dedication to following the law and making sure that such behavior is dealt with properly.

Prior his surrender to the police, Portable declared himself insane, saying is receiving treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Aro, Abeokuta.

Portable made the statement while appealing to Nigerians and the Ogun State Government on Tuesday after being proclaimed wanted by the state police command.
