The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a police officer for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in his office.
This was announced in a statement by the command’s public relations officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Sunday.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has directed a full-scale and thorough investigation into the allegation.
The statement also “assures the public that there is absolutely no attempt at a cover-up as such hideous acts are at variance with the code of conduct and professional ethics of the Nigeria Police Force.
Furthermore, CP Fayoade assures Nigerians that the officer will face the full wrath of the law if found culpable.
