Oluchi Nzemechi, 27, of Uzoagba in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, has been taken into custody by the Imo State Police Command for fatally stabbing her lover, Kelechi Nzemechi.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to the crime, according to the police, saying that her 31-year-old partner had tricked her into engaging in computer fraud, or “yahoo yahoo.”

She clarified that on Sunday, she got into a furious disagreement with the dead because he did not pay her a share of the purported 250 million Rupiah they had taken from an Indonesian victim through fraud.

Nzemechi said she stabbed him in the upper torso during the dispute with a kitchen knife.

“In a bid to cover up my criminal acts, I swiftly wrote on a piece of paper, ‘you think you can eat my money and go free? I am baba for the boys. I am coming for your wife and your child, including your family, and I placed it on his lifeless body and ran away from the house,” the suspect revealed while responding to journalists when she was paraded by the police.

Nzemechi also stated that she has been living with the victim since 2019 and has a child for him.

After the inquiry is finished, the suspect will be charged in court, according to ASP Henry Okoye, the command’s public relations officer.

“Effort is intensified to recover the alleged 250 million Indonesian Rupiah for a possible return to the owner. The suspect is currently undergoing an investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department and will certainly be arraigned in court,” he added.
