The Nigerian Police Force has disclosed that it cannot arrest all criminal elements in the country at once.

This was stated in a statement on X on Friday by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Office.

Adejobi made the remarks while reacting to criticisms aimed at the police force over their inability to bring to book terrorists who, in a now viral video, were seen flaunting on social media ransom received from kidnapped victims.

Reacting to the backlashes, Adejobi mentioned that security agencies are working assiduously to arrest terrorists and criminals on a daily basis.

While arguing that security agencies may not be able to arrest all criminals in the country at once, the Police PRO mentioned that the Force and other security agencies should be applauded for the arrests made so far.

“We can’t apprehend all the criminals at once. At least appreciate us for the ones we have arrested,” he said.

“We arrest them on a daily basis, in large numbers. The armed forces and police are trying their best.

“Efforts of security forces should be seen, noticed, and appreciated.

“We need to look towards having collective efforts and individualistic involvement in tackling insecurity and other vices in Nigeria. One thing is sure: no criminal will go unpunished,” he added.
