The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its 103rd National Executive Committee meeting, earlier scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Debo Ologunagba, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, confirmed the postponement in a statement uploaded to X on Monday.
According to the statement, the National Working Committee made the decision after an emergency meeting in Abuja.
Ologunagba said, “Distinguished members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) may recall that the 103rd NEC meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, 15th October, 2025.
“However, in view of recent developments in the party, the National Working Committee (NWC), in exercise of its powers pursuant to Section 29 (2)(b) of the Constitution of the (as amended in 2017), has at its emergency meeting on Monday, 13th October, 2025, approved the postponement of the 103rd NEC meeting to a new date that will be communicated to members in due course.”
The party requested that all NEC members take notice of the move and await additional communication from the national secretariat.
Recent defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress have put the party under pressure.
In response, Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, has publicly pledged his resilience.
Mohammed claimed that neither political defections nor foreign forces could prevent the PDP’s National Convention, which is scheduled to take place in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15-16.
