Parents and members of Student Union Government on Tuesday marched to the National Assembly in demand for the release of the abducted Greenfield University students.

On April 20, 2021 twenty-two students were abducted from the university campus, when gunmen invaded the school premises.

The group led by activist, Deji Adeyanju gathered at Unity fountain in a solidarity march to the National Assembly, demanding the release of the students.

In a video shared by Adeyanju, the parents and leaders of the student union held placards with inscriptions “Bring back our students.”

Adeyanju alongside the video in his Twitter page wrote: “In solidarity with the parents of abducted Kaduna students at the National Assembly. We marched from the Unity Fountain to NASS.

“I appeal to the government to rescue the students and not to let them be killed today.”

This is coming after the kidnappers, who are suspected bandits vowed to kill the remaining 17 students if the ransom is not paid.

Leader of the bandits who identified himself as SaniIdris Jalingo, while speaking in an interview on Hausa Service of Voice of America (VOA) said the remaining students would be killed today if the government failed to meet their demand.

According to him, the demand includes N100 million and 10 brand new Honda motorcycles.

Meanwhile, five of the students kidnapped have been killed within a week as the Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai vowed never to negotiate with bandits.
