Vice President Yemi Osinbajo did not meet or notify President Muhammadu Buhari that he will be contesting the 2023 Presidency, Laolu Akande, spokesperson to the VP said.
In a reaction to reports circulating on Tuesday, Akande said that it was fake news and that Nigerians should disregard it.
Reacting to the report, Akande said: “This is pure, fake news.”
He added that “Mr. President and the VP did not meet on New Year’s Day.”
Akande urged the media to stick with press statements that were issued by the Office of the Vice President on the 2023 presidency.
“If there is an update, I will ensure the media is made aware, please ignore the lies and many are going to still come,” he said.
