Olivier Giroud has officially announced his retirement from international football following EURO 2024, marking the end of an illustrious career with the French national team.
In an emotional Instagram post, the 37-year old striker who had stints with Arsenal and Chelsea, began with “The dreaded moment has arrived,” confirming his departure from Les Bleus.
As the all-time top scorer for France, Giroud leaves behind an impressive record of 143 caps and 57 goals.
A key player in France’s 2018 FIFA World Cup victory, his contributions to the team have been monumental.
Looking ahead, the forward will continue his club career in MLS with Los Angeles FC, where he will join forces with former France teammate Hugo Lloris.
