Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha

On Sunday, the Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha said it will be difficult for young people to assume leadership positions in the current state of the country.

He declared that they ought to be groomed well before taking over leadership.

Okorocha made the assertion in Owerri, the Imo state capital, through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodor, as part of his Christmas message.

The governor said what the leaders needed to do now was to unite the people.

”The leaders cannot afford to hand over to the next generation what we have at the moment as a nation, in which ethnicity, religious bigotry and zoning of political offices are still the orders of the day.

“Nigerians must endeavour to hand over to the next generation a united and prosperous nation, all the ethnic and religious groups can be proud of”. He said

He further called on Nigerians to see the current recession as only a “national challenge.”

“Nigerians especially the leaders should appreciate themselves and see the current recession as a national challenge.”

“Christians in the state in particular to pray more than they had never done before, for the good of the state and her people”. Okorocha said
