The Ogun State Government has cautioned popular hip-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, over his repeated assaults on government officials.

The government described his actions as unprovoked and unacceptable.

Portable, who gained fame with his breakout song Zazuu Zeh, has been known for controversies, including disputes with his baby mamas, show promoters, and law enforcement agencies.

In a statement on Friday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, condemned an attack on officials of the State Planning and Development Permit Authority.

The assault, allegedly carried out by miscreants under Portable’s influence, took place on Wednesday in the Iyana-Ilogbo area, where his bar is located.

“We are profoundly taken aback by the unpleasant and uncivil act of the Hip-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable on Wednesday, in Iyana-Ilogbo area of the State where his bar is located,” the statement read.

“The way in which Portable and some set of miscreants he employed in the dastardly act attacked the officials of the state planning and development permit Authority is not only bizarre but a confirmation of erosion of Omoluabi ethos in those individuals and indeed a great disgrace to the state.”

Akinmade described the attack as unacceptable and barbaric, emphasizing that government officials were simply carrying out their lawful duties. He assured that the incident would be addressed in line with the law.

“Governor Dapo Abiodun totally condemned this primitive and indecent act and reiterated his avowed commitment to a just and egalitarian society as he is ready to make any individual flouting the extant law of the land face the full wrath of the law irrespective of social status and influence.”

He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to maintaining order and upholding the values of Omoluabi ethos, stressing that unlawful acts would not be tolerated.
