Nigeria have qualified for the semi-final of the 2025 Women’s Afrobasket in Cote d’Ivoire.

The team defeated Cameroon 83-47 in the quarter-final game on Thursday at the Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan.

The victory continued Nigeria’s streak of six consecutive semi-final appearances in the competition. D’Tigress have not fallen short of reaching the Women’s Afrobasket semi-final since 2013.

The D’Tigress were in their best form when the game tipped off against the Cameroonians, and they laid down the marker early.

The scoreline was 21-9 by the end of the first quarter. The margin held through the second quarter, and D’Tigress were ahead 41-29 by halftime.

The third quarter clarified the mismatch between the teams as Nigeria scored 25 points and Cameroon could only manage two.

The final quarter was also an easy walk for the D’Tigress, who wrapped up for a 36-point victory.

Amy Okoronkwo scored 18 points – the highest points in the game. Followed by Victoria Balogun and Nicole Enabosi with 12 points each.

Nigeria will face Senegal in the semi-final on Saturday.

The D’Tigress are on the course for their fifth consecutive Women’s Afrobasket title.
