    Nigeria announces 490 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 490 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Sunday.

    The 490 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 24567.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 382 patients from isolation centers across the country with eight new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 118 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 10144.

    • Nigeria announces 779 new coronavirus cases

    Delta state recorded 84 new cases, Ebonyi reported 68 new cases while FCT, Plateau, and Edo recorded 56, 39 and 29 new cases respectively.

    Other states are Katsina-21, Imo-13, Ondo-12, Adamawa-11, Osun-8, Ogun-8, Rivers-6, Kano-5, Enugu-3, Bauchi-3, Akwa Ibom-3, Kogi-1, Oyo-1 and Bayelsa-1.

    NCDC reports that there are 24567 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 9007 discharged and 565 deaths.
