The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 160 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday.
The 160 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 53,477.
The NCDC also announced the discharge of 291 patients from isolation centers across the country with no new death reported.
Plateau state again reported the highest number of cases for the day with 44 news cases.
Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 21 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 18056.
Rivers state reported 20 new cases, FCT recorded 15 new cases while Kaduna, Bauchi and Delta recorded 13, 12 and 11 new cases respectively.
Other states are Ekiti-5, Akwa Ibom-7, Ebonyi-6, Kwara-5, Ogun-4, Osun-4, Gombe-3 and Niger-2.
NCDC reports that there are 53,021 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 40,726 discharged and 1,011 deaths.
