A male student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, UNIZIK, Awka, Anambra state, has jumped from a three-storey building and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

The incident took place at a lodge near the university’s gate. Residents reported the student appeared to have consumed strong narcotics before plunging from the building.

According to the neighbours, there was a noise, and when they arrived, they discovered the victim’s body lying in a pool of blood.

It was determined that the student’s housemate was also under the effect of the same drugs since he was found incoherent in their room.

It was reported that the flatmate is currently in police custody and would be questioned once he has stabilised.

The deceased’s identity has not been revealed, and authorities are reportedly seeking to contact the family while enquiries into the incident continue.
