The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Akinwumi Adesina has called for more institutional support systems for the continent.
Adesina’s call came when he addressed the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
He also pointed out the need to tackle the bias in the current global credit rating system, as well as the establishment of the African credit rating agency as advocated by the African Union.
AfDB contributes to the promotion of economic and social development in least developed African countries by providing concessional funding for projects and programs, as well as technical assistance for studies and capacity-building activities.
