The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Nigerians to disregard messages and calls from unscrupulous elements about a fraudulent “Bola Tinubu Empowerment” program.
The APC, in a statement on Tuesday signed by Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary of the party, warned the general public against giving out their bank details for the payment of N85,000 from the president.
Describing the calls and text messages as a “scam”, Morka urged well-meaning Nigerians to disregard the calls and messages so they do not fall victim to the antics of scammers.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) wishes to alert the general public to a scam message being circulated by suspected fraudsters, requesting banking details for payment of ‘N85,000 from Bola Tinubu empowerment’ and asking interested persons to call 07078309083.
“This is a scam, and we urge members of the public to disregard the message and refrain from calling the posted number or any numbers associated with the message,” the statement reads.
Morka also called on relevant security agencies to swing into action so as to bring the suspected fraudsters to book.
“We call on relevant security agencies to urgently identify and bring the perpetrators to justice,” Morka added.
