President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed regret to anyone who has been harmed by administrative decisions.
While welcoming the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja population to his ninth and final Sallah celebration at the Presidential Villa, Buhari extended an unreserved apology.
The President commended Nigerians for their patience during his eight-year administration while speaking at the event, which was attended by prominent members of the administration from the Abuja community, led by Minister of the FCT Mohammed Bello.
“Thank you for tolerating me…I consider myself lucky to have been a Governor, Minister Head of State and now President for two terms,” Buhari told the guests.
The President also said he could not wait to go home after eight years of ruling the nation.
According to him: “I can’t wait to go home…I deliberately arranged to be as far away as possible from you people. I have got what I have asked and will quietly retire to my hometown in Daura.”
He reminded the audience he is from the extreme corner of Nigeria, Daura in Katsina State, which he said is just eight kilometers from the Niger Republic.
