Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) have arrested a 31-year old suspect, Mathew Fowler, following three shootings Conception Bay South (CBS) on Thursday.
In a terse update on its Twitter account, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary announced the arrest and added that there is no further threat related to this matter.
“Advisory Update: The subject of our search related to shooting events in
@TownofCBS today is now in custody, and there is no further threat related to this matter. Thank you for your support,” RNC said in a tweet.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary had in a previous alert said the suspect, Fowler was fleeing in a black Subaru Legacy with number plate, JFH 710.
“Active Criminal Threat – Armed male at large following three shootings in Town of CBS. Suspect, 31 year old Matthew Jeremy FOWLER, described to be 6 feet and 5 inches tall, 200 pounds, with tattoos around the neck.
“FOWLER has dark hair and brown eyes. FOWLER is believed to be travelling in a black Subaru Legacy JFH 710.
“The RNC is advising the community to shelter in place (remain in your residence, work or indoors), with entrances secured, while police search for the suspect.
