The Rivers State House of Assembly has requested that the Department of State Services investigate the Chief Judge of the State for alleged age fraud.
This was the subject of plenary on Thursday in the Assembly, following the presentation of several documents by the House’s leader, Hon. Major Jack.
Hon. Dumle Maol, the Deputy Speaker, then levelled a charge against the state’s Chief Judge, Simeon Amadi.
He said, “These documents before me simply say that the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Simeon Amadi, falsified his age in service. Mr. Speaker, that is a very serious allegation, and I do hope that this House takes legislative notice.”
During the House discussion, the Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, requested an investigation into the Rivers State top judge’s suspected age falsification.
The DSS Director will conduct the investigation and report back to the House.
He said, “The documents are only suggesting a case of age falsification by the honourable Chief Judge of the state, Simeon Amadi. What it means is that there has to be an investigation to that effect.”
Following a voice vote, the House agreed to request that the DSS investigate the Chief Judge’s age falsification allegations.
