No fewer than 100 hoodlums stormed the Ipaja Police Station in Lagos State, causing panic in the area on Monday.
According to reports, the incident sparked a gun battle between the thugs and police officers, with some of the thugs murdered.
The attack led to a subsequent exchange of gunfire, which terrified the inhabitants.
Police have been dispatched to the area to provide reinforcement.
When contacted, State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident.
Hundeyin stated that the situation has been curtailed.
He said, “The situation has been curtailed, but no arrest has been made yet.”
