Nigerian music star David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has strongly criticized the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Umar Abba, accusing him of failing to uphold the rule of law.
The controversy follows violent clashes in Osun State on Monday, which led to the killing of the sacked chairman of Irewole Local Government, Remi Abass, along with two others.
The victims were shot dead by unknown gunmen at the local government secretariat in Ikire.
Expressing his frustration on his Instagram handle (@davido), Davido vowed to continuously post the police commissioner’s photo online until he is removed from office if he does not act in accordance with the law.
“Mr. Commissioner, respect the rule of law!!! You are not madder or crazier than us!! Make we all kuru mad!! MEN MOUNT WALAI TO KRF!!! I will post you every day everywhere, Mr. man!!! Try me,” Davido wrote.
In a follow-up post, he intensified his stance, declaring, “MAN STEP ASIDE!!! Game on!!! Oya men mount!! WHY ARE YOU GOING AGAINST THE RULE OF LAW!! I will post you every day till they sack you!!! You think say na only you mad abi? I mad pass.”
Davido also described the police commissioner as a “disgrace” and vowed to continue calling him out publicly.

Recall that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, had earlier accused the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, of plotting to incite chaos in the state.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Adeleke alleged that Oyetola, in collaboration with top security officials, was planning to enforce a court ruling that reinstated local government chairmen elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I called this press conference to alert the national and global audience about a deliberate plot to create chaos and anarchy in Osun State,” Adeleke said.
He further claimed, “This evil plot is being spearheaded by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, in active collaboration with the Osun state Commissioner of Police, the Osun state Director of DSS, and the State Commandant of the Civil Defense Corps.”
Adeleke expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to democracy and the rule of law, stating, “I know Mr. President to be a true democrat, a lover of rule of law, and a believer in the sanctity of the judicial process.
“I know, as a matter of fact, that Mr. President will never authorise a dictatorial violation of the constitution irrespective of who is involved. It is crucial to add that Mr. President will never support any action that is capable of generating bloodbath and bloodshed.”
The governor warned of potential unrest if the alleged plan is carried out, saying, “I, however, regret to inform Mr. President and the public that Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has concluded an arrangement to cause mayhem in Osun State starting from Monday.
“He is issuing illegal directives to security operatives to enforce illegality simply because he is the nephew of Mr. President.
“I chose to alert the nation before my people are killed or maimed by a minister dropping the name of Mr. President in connivance with the Osun State security operatives obeying unlawful orders.”
Adeleke clarified that the dismissed local government chairmen were removed before he assumed office and rejected claims that he was responsible for their sack.
“The bone of contention is the brazen effrontery to return to office council chairmen sacked by a subsisting court judgment using a different court decision, which has no consequential order.
“Let me make it clear that the said council chairmen were sacked before I was sworn in as governor of Osun State, contrary to the lies being peddled, that the chairmen and councilors were sacked by my Executive Order.”
