According to the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), forensic investigation has proven that ex-Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s dollar tapes were not doctored.
In 2017, an online newspaper Daily Nigerian published videos of Ganduje reportedly accepting payments from contractors.
However, speaking at ‘A One Day Public Dialogue on Anti-Corruption Crusade in Kano’ on Wednesday, the agency’s Chairman, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, stated that the with the conclusion of the forensic analysis, the authenticity of the films had been validated.
He stated that after the revelation of the videos, many have challenged the panel led by him to prove the former governor’s innocence or guilt in the situation.
He further stated that his committee began an investigation in 2018 but was unable to proceed since Ganduje, the governor at the time, had immunity.
