Nigerian chef, Adeyeye Adeola begins her quest to achieve a new Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon.
Adeola who had previously announced her intention to begin her 150 hours cook-a-thon quest, began her cook-a-thon on Friday, June 30, 2023, in the Ondo State Local Government Area of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo and is slated to end on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
This comes after another Nigerian chef, Adeparusi Damilola, commonly known as Chef Dammy, completed a 120-hour cook-a-thon in Ekiti State’s Oye Local Government Area.
Chronicle NG reports that another Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, currently holds the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.
Baci’s record-breaking attempt lasted four days, from Thursday, May 11 to Monday, May 15, during which she made almost 100 pots of meals.
The Guinness World Records recognized Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, as the record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with an astonishing time of 93 hours and 11 minutes, in an official statement on its website.
Adeola’s 150-hour cook-a-thon, on the other hand, if completed, will beat Hilda Baci’s record and set a new world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
