Knarik Gambaryan, the mother of Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan, has issued a heartfelt plea for her son’s release after he has been held in Nigerian custody since February 2024.
The Binance executive, detained without clear explanation, is now facing a serious health crisis, suffering from malaria, double pneumonia, and severe tonsillitis. Medical professionals have recommended surgery to remove his tonsils, but his detention persists without adequate treatment.
Knarik, devastated by her son’s condition and treatment, has made an emotional appeal to the media and U.S. authorities.
“It breaks my heart because they are treating my son not like a human,” she said in an interview with Bloomberg and Fox26News.
Her desperation was palpable as she begged for U.S. intervention, urging officials to bring her son home.
“He’s innocent, that’s all,” she stressed. “But I can ask and I’m begging everybody who can help my son. Just please bring my son home.” Her emotional plea took a selfless turn as she made a heartbreaking offer:
“Just take me, exchange me with my son. Just let my son go home! I don’t care what will happen to me, just let my son go home.” she said
Despite Knarik’s cries for help, Nigerian authorities have not provided any explanation for Tigran’s continued detention, nor have they made any moves to address his urgent medical needs. As his health worsens, the Gambaryan family’s desperation grows.
Tigran’s legal team and family are calling for immediate action, urging U.S. officials to press Nigerian authorities for his release and provide him with the medical care he critically needs.
