Speaker Mojisola Meranda is currently presiding over the plenary of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Mudashiru Obasa, the ousted Speaker, is not present for Monday’s sitting.
The speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, and all other lawmakers from the Lagos State House of Assembly held a meeting outside the assembly complex on Monday.
According to reports, the meeting is taking place ahead of a plenary session that was originally set at 1pm.
The conference is also attended by leaders from the state branch of the All Progressives Congress, including Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi.
The meeting is also attended by Lawal Pedro (SAN), the state attorney general.
Obasa arrived around 1:30pm to join the MPs for the meeting, which was conducted under a tent.
It remains uncertain how the leadership tussle between Meranda and Obasa would be resolved, but currently the lawmakers are eulogizing Meranda, saluting her leadership so far.
Meranda, a former deputy speaker, was elected the speaker by over 30 lawmakers on January 13 when the House removed Obasa as speaker.
