The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), in partnership with Kick Against Indiscipline, sealed the Ogba shopping mall on Sunday due to a filthy environment, improper waste management, and other environmental infractions.
Kunle Adeshina, a spokesman for the state’s Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, announced this on his X page on Sunday.
Sharing photos from the exercise, he wrote, “Operatives from the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and KAI, acting on the directives of HC MOE&WR on Sunday, November 5, sealed up the Ogba shopping mall beside Sunday Market.
“The mall was closed on account of a filthy environment, indiscriminate dumping of refuse, a lack of a waste bin, and failure to comply with the rules of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority.”
