Ms. Olufunmilayo Brioluwa, a Lagos resident has been remanded in Kirikiri for assaulting a police officer.
Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer revealed this on Tuesday. He said Ms. Brioluwa assaulted the officer during a random stop and search carried out by men of the Nigerian Police force in the Oyingbo area of Lagos State.
It is reported she squeezed the uniform of the officer, “shoving him with all sense of impunity”, the Officer said.
Brioluwa who was arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Eti-Osa Local Government Area presided by Magistrate Alao M.O, pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against her.
However, the Magistrate granted the prayer of the police prosecutor to remand her in prison for 21 days pending investigation.
She was remanded at Kirikiri Prison until June 6, 2023, when the case will come up for trial.
