IGP Usman Alkali Baba, the inspector general of police, has directed that CP Abubakar Lawal be sent to the Kano State Police Command as the next commissioner of police in charge of the state.
CP Kolo Yusuf and CP Ahmed Ammani were also posted by the IGP to lead the Zamfara and Enugu State Police Commands, respectively.
CP Abubakar Lawal, who was transferred to the Kano State Police Command in response to the retirement of the previous commissioner of police.
CP SS Dikko, hails from Daura in Katsina State and is a graduate of the esteemed Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
Since his commissioning as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1990, he has worked in a variety of positions. These include serving as the Yobe State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, a Divisional Police Officer in a number of Borno and Kano State Police Divisions.
He also served as the Police Cooperative Society’s Department Commissioner of Administration, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the South-West Border Patrol in Badagry, Lagos, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at both Zone 2 Headquarters in Lagos and the Oyo State Police Command.
At the Police Staff College in Kansas, he took the Combat Operations Course, Junior and Intermediate Command Course, and Tactical Leadership Command Course. He is a National Defense College Fellow.
CP Kolo Yusufu, the newly appointed chief of the Zamfara State Police Command, is a native of Edati in Niger State.
He is a Nigeria Bar Association member and has a bachelor’s degree in law (NBA). He also has a doctorate in international relations and a master’s degree in crime management and prevention.
He has held a number of operational positions, such as officer in charge of anti-robbery squads in different states, commander of the IGP Crack Squad, coordinator of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS), and commander of the Technical Intelligence Unit and Special Tactical Squad (TIU-STS) under the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB).
He has taken the Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Course in Colombia and the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College in Jos.
The new Enugu State Police Command Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, is a multi-talented law enforcement official from the Malumfashi Local Government Area of Kastina State.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Hausa and Islamic Religious Studies from Bayero University in Kano, a Master of Science in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Corruption Studies from Hong Kong University.
