    Herdsmen kill pastor in Oyo

    A pastor, identified as Segun Adegboyega, has reportedly been gruesomely murdered on his farm in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, by people suspected to be herdsmen.

    According to reports, the susected herdsmen murdered the Pastor on Monday at the deceased’s farm in Gege village, on the Ogbomoso-Iseyin Road.

    The investigation showed that three herdsmen had been detained in connection with the murderand were being held at the Owode Police Headquarters.

    Meanwhile, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, has urged the town’s residents to remain calm in the aftermath of the killing, promising them that those responsible will face justice.

    Olaoye addressed them on Monday evening following the event, promising to work with security officers to obtain justice for the deceased’s family.

    The monarch said, “As your father, I wish to say, this is an ugly situation, and it is uncalled for.

    ”I have spoken my mind to the Area Commander of Owode Police Headquarters, who is here with me, and I want to assure you that justice will be served.

    ”I equally sympathise with every one of you; may God continue to watch over you and the entire land of Ogbomoso.”

    At the time of filing this report, the police command was yet to confirm the report as efforts to reach Adewale Osifeso, the Fore Public Relations Officer, proved abortive.
