The Katsina State Government House in Katsina was reportedly gutted by fire on Monday morning.
However, the cause of the inferno was yet to be determined.
Alhaji Bashir, a resident who lives near the Government House, told reporters in Katsina that the inferno began at 6 a.m.
He said, “I saw a fire service truck rushing in. I was in my house as early as 6 am after prayers when a fire service truck rushed into the government house, and I later learnt there was an inferno inside the red chamber where Governor Dikko used to host guests.”.
Our correspondent’s attempts to contact the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim l. Mohammed, were unsuccessful because he did not return his calls.
