A businessman gave his family a “good time” despite losing his source of livelihood to fire, which wreaked havoc on his business premises.
This was revealed by his son Chinedu Herbert in a statement on X on Sunday.
According to Chinedu, his father, who was out, returned home with drinks and grilled chicken, which they ate to their fill before he disclosed the sad news to them.
“Last night, my dad came home and gave us grilled chicken, ugba, drinks, and all that,” Chinedu wrote.
“and then after we ate and had a good time, he announced to us that his shop has burnt down,” he added.
In recent weeks, several parts of the country have witnessed an upsurge in fire incidences.
Chronicle NG reports that a fire that occurred in the Ogbosisi Timber Market in the Onitsha area of Anambra State late Wednesday night has left several goods worth millions destroyed.
An X user identified as Omaletocracy shared videos of the inferno incident in a post.
The video showed some traders trying to salvage their goods while the inferno rages.
He captioned the video as “Head bridge market Onitsha is on fire 18/12/2024.”
