The Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) has sealed the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja due to a long-standing failure to pay ground rent.

The property, located in Zone 5 of the Federal Capital Territory, was shut down on Monday by the FCTA, marking the end of a 28-year period of non-payment.

Lere Olayinka, spokesperson for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, confirmed the development to DAILY POST.

According to Olayinka: “FCTA seals PDP Secretariat in Zone 5 Abuja. It was revoked for not paying ground rent.”

He further revealed that: “Senator Samaila Mamman Kurfi, owner of the property, failed to pay Ground Rent for 28 years.”

The action comes amid a wider crackdown on property owners within the FCT who have defaulted on statutory payments.
