Elizabeth Bidei, the Bayelsa State Executive Council and Commissioner for Women Affairs, has passed away.
Her death was announced in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, on Tuesday.
Obiyai sympathised with her family, especially her husband, Jackson Bidei, and their children.
However, the cause of her death and the date were not disclosed by Obiyai.
The statement read, “Our hearts go out to the bereaved family. Our prayers are with them during this profoundly difficult time of grief.
“Our sincerest sympathies and prayers are with her loved ones at this difficult time. May they all find comfort in the knowledge that Mrs. Bidei’s life and work had a profound impact on our state and its people.
“As we mourn Mrs. Bidei, we will dearly miss her and her passion as a dedicated public servant and a loyal party person, who worked tirelessly to promote the welfare and empowerment of women in our state.”
