The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja ruled on Wednesday that Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the legitimate winner of the September 21 governorship election.
In a unanimous decision, the three-member panel led by Justice Wilfred Kpochi dismissed the petition brought by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Asuerime Ighodalo.
The tribunal determined that the petitioners failed to show their charges of over-voting, and Okpebholo received the most legal votes.
The panel also faulted how the petitioners presented their material, claiming that it did not adequately substantiate their arguments.
