The Court of Appeal Abuja Division on Thursday affirmed the election of Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo as the winner of the Edo State governorship election held on September 21, 2024.
The appellate court issued the ruling in a decision handed down by Justice Mohammed Danjuma in an appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo.
The three-member panel of the appellate court, in a unanimous ruling, dismissed Ighodalo’s appeal, describing it as lacking merit.
Justice Danjuma ruled that the PDP and Ighodalo failed to prove a miscarriage of justice in the decision of the Edo State Election Petition Tribunal, which had previously dismissed the two appellants’ petition.
