Security operatives in Borno state have rescued another Chibok girl from her captors.
The latest development was disclosed by the Governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum at the Government House in Maiduguri on Saturday.
The girl who had been married to a Boko haram militant returned with two children whom she gave birth to while in captivity.
The circumstances surrounding her freedom were yet to be disclosed as at the time of filing this report.
On April 14, 2014, Boko Haram insurgents invaded Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State and abducted 276 students of the school.
Although some of them have escaped and others rescued, it is believed that over one hundred of the girls are still in captivity.
Seven years after their abduction, Governor Zulum still expresses hope that the girls will be rescued as he pledged to do all it takes to free them.
“As a father of all sons and daughters of Borno, I haven’t lost hope that our remaining Chibok schoolgirls and other abducted persons will be safely recovered,” the Governor said.
