The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of ten people in a tragic accident in the Okete community, Ohimini Local Government Area.
The incident occurred early Thursday when a truck crashed into a building, claiming the lives of no fewer than ten people.
In a condolence message issued through his chief press secretary, Tersoo Kula, Alia said, “It is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest sympathies to the families affected by the tragic accident in Okete community, Ohimini LGA, Benue state.
“The loss of ten precious lives in such a devastating manner has plunged our state into mourning.
“In these trying times, I want to assure you that the government stands in solidarity with the bereaved families. We share in your pain and pray that you find comfort and strength to bear this loss.”
The Benue state governor also assured the people that the state administration is dedicated to conducting comprehensive investigations to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
He also prayed for the souls of the fallen to rest in peace and for God to comfort and strengthen the bereaved families while urging friends and community members to help the impacted families at this difficult time.
