During a combat clearance operation in Borno State’s north-east on Thursday, men of the Nigerian army working with the Civilian Joint Task Force killed six terrorists and seized one alive.
According to reports, the army ambushed the terrorists as they travelled down the Molai-Damboa Road toward Sambisa Forest carrying substantial amounts of supplies.
Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, confirmed the occurrence on Thursday. He claimed that “the army successfully caught the terrorists, killing down six on the spot, arresting one alive while the others fled.
“The troops recovered AK47 rifles, several bicycles and large quantities of the logistics.”Molai is an outskirt and located about 10kms drive from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
