The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to hold the long-awaited meetings of the National Caucus and National Executive Committee, which were postponed last year.
Chronicle NG gathered that the meetings will be held next Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
Earlier set for September 11 and 12 last year in Abuja, the two critical sessions were canceled off without any reason.
Concerns were expressed five months after it was canceled over when the ruling party’s NEC meeting would take place.
However, a leaked memo from the APC secretariat revealed that the party had obtained alternative dates for the two political gatherings.
The document, signed by the APC’s National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, indicated that although the National Caucus meeting would be held at the Presidential Villa banquet hall on February 25, the party’s national secretariat in Abuja would host the NEC the following day.
“Distinguished colleagues, kindly circulate the following to all party stakeholders in the states that the National Caucus Meeting of the party is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 25 February 2025, at the banquet hall of the Presidential Villa by 6pm.
“The National Executive Committee is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 26 February 2025, at the National Secretariat of the party. Best regards,” the memo read.
The key meetings of the two statutory organs of the party are anticipated to be headed by President Bola Tinubu and would also have Vice President Kashim Shettima and former President Muhammadu Buhari in attendance.
Also expected are the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje; the current Senate President, Godswill Akpabio; APC governors; former and sitting speakers of the House of Representatives of the party; state party chairman; the National Working Committee; and other stakeholders.
