APC caucus labels Onanuga ‘an accident’ for stance on internet outage

Members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and staunch apologist to former President Muhammadu Buhari have described Bayo Onanuga, Bola Tinubu’s aide, as an accident over his remarks on the Internet downtime in Africa.

The staunch Buhari and APC apologist said on Friday, ‘This man (Onanuga) here is an accident.

Onanuga, on his X page, said, “Disruption to internet services in Nigeria is medium, following the damage to undersea cables. At 67 percent, it is not as terrible compared to the severe outage suffered by Ivory Coast, down to 4 percent, or the very high outage (17–23%) being experienced by Liberia and Benin Republic, data by Netblocks, the internet watchdog, shows”.

Reacting to President Tinubu’s media aide post, Tee Jones, who was disappointed, said, “This man here is an accident. I’ve always ignored when kids drag him, in the hope that he will change. But the more he continues, the more things remain the same.”

Ishakaa asked, “Are you sure it’s not Baba Buhari and his last APC administration that are responsible for these disruptions to internet services in Nigeria?”

“Baba Buhari didn’t build strong concrete infrastructure around the underwater cables as part of our obligations to the African Union,” he remarked in sarcasm.

Tiamiyu Lawal wrote, “This administration will never compare Nigeria with something good and working perfectly. It’s always despair, pain, sorrows, disappointments, and downtime. Just anything sinister to make Nigerians suffer and cry.”

“They’ve not done anything good since they came to power—only tribulations, trials, and misery. I want President Tinubu to know that we voted for him to make life better for us, not comparing our situation with the tragedies of Liberia, Benin Republic, and Ivory Coast.”
