The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of applications for its Direct Short Service Commission 34/2025.

The announcement, made on Tuesday through the NAF’s official X page, urged applicants from a variety of professions, including engineering, medical, and cyber specialists, reflecting the force’s changing needs in modern warfare.

Interested candidates can apply for free online from August 27 to October 7, 2025, at https://nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng.

According to NAF, candidates must have the following prerequisites to qualify:

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.

Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 32, whereas medical doctors (consultants) may be between the ages of 25 and 40 at the time of application.

The exercise is not for serving troops seeking a Branch Commission. Personnel over the age of 32 are not eligible to apply.

A serving person must be recommended by his or her commanding officer/commander, have served for ten years, and hold the level of Cpl.

Applicants must be at least 1.66 metres tall for men and 1.63 metres tall for women.

Applicants must not have any previous criminal convictions from a court of law.

The Force further stated that applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, as well as meet the Nigerian Air Force’s medical and employment criteria.

It specified that interested applicants must have at least a second-class upper division and either an NYSC discharge certificate or a letter of exemption.

The Zonal General Aptitude Test will take place on a date to be announced on the NAF Recruitment Portal. Only successful applicants will be invited to the selection interview.
